I drive a '02 Sentra SE-R SpecV witha an '03 transmission with 15k miles. I was thinking of swapping the stock stuff for the MTL-P from Speciality Formulations.

Anyway, the question is, is it o.k. to mix the old transmission fluid with the old oil that I turn in for recycling?

Thanks

BTW, how do you subcribe to a thread around here?

I figured as much. I was slightly annoyed/amused that I had to sign a paper stating what brand of oil it was when I turned it in to Advance Auto.

It was a mixture of M1 and dino Pennzoil but I just put down M1.

I work for a Environmental/Haz Waste company. A few times a year we do Household Hazardous waste collections, where people in the community bring haz waste to us to collect, and dispose.

I sometimes work the used oil collection. We put in used engine oil, gear oil, hydrualic oil, and even cooking oil like vegitable oils.

Some people bring in un-opened oil and antifreeze. Not sure why, but I keep that for myself,

I throw everything- gear oil, motor oil, ATF, and antifreeze into the 5 gallon jugs I take in for recycling. It's not a problem because the stuff gets filtered when it gets to wherever it ends up.

Good for you, I have visited a few friend's houses. They used to do their own oil change when young but after having kids they are too busy. So they have some 5 year old virgins oils that just sit on the shelf. Since they are no longer using them, it is dead weight and they decide to recycle them.
