"Corporate profits receive a lot of media attention, but what receives considerably less attention are the corporate taxes paid on corporate profits..."

ExxonMobil's 2007 Tax Bill: $30 Billion

Right, but we pay it many times. We pay for it in the taxes that oil companies have to pay when we buy products we need from them and in what we have to pay to the government at the pump, etc.

Getting it coming and going.

It is no different anywhere else....

You have the same routine on every product you buy.... Businesses don't pay taxes >> That is just another expense they pass on to the customer/end user.
Same for trucking cost... Employees...insurance... rent.... etc... You as the end user pay it all..
It just so happens that "Big Oil" is being demonized right now and is a useful target for your misplaced anger.

What drives the oil prices up (outside of speculators) It is Government through the means of Taxation, Regulation, Mandates, and many many other way.

Remember to look passed the headlines and soundbytes.

Actually, the Amish would not. They do not use electricity and would not touch a computer with a 10 foot pole. Now, the Mennonites, they might be reading and smiling. Cheers!
