Recommendation for a good mechanic near Dover, Delaware.

No offense, you should have named the title better than "Delaware".

Plus listing the vehicle(s) in question means a lot. There are garages that may specialize in common makes while avoiding German luxury as an example. Or the shop that specializes in Mercedes.... .

Your better off going to the dealer in many circumstances. Some dealers don't want to work on vehicles that are older however.

I'd rather pay a dealer to install a water pump on a 3.5 Ford than an independent you'd have to ask 20 questions if they are going to use the latest revised Ford water pump or some piece of crap from Auto Zone. And the independents you gotta hold their hand regarding what parts you want used usually don't want such a customer.

CarTalk may have a list of mechanics on their website. They did at one time.

Go into a NAPA and ask. Stop by a few with a proposed repair and ask them if they are OK with you bringing the parts. The way they answer will give you a clue.

I am looking in Delaware for a mechanic but down near Lewes. However I am trying to get everything squared away before moving.

I don't need my water pump done, if I did I would just recommend OEM parts to whoever was fixing it, and I can't afford dealer prices around here. Dealer would get around $4,000 for doing a water pump on a Ford Edge. I'm unable to work on my own vehicle anymore, COPD Asthma and arthritis, I need other work done. I'll figure it.. Thanks

What work is needing to be done?

Any corner gas station can do that. Heck, have any teenagers in the neighborhood? I'll bet with a little guidance and fifty bucks plus parts, they would do it just as well. I assume you don't DIY.
I can't anymore because of my health. I'm not trusting a bunch of teenagers to pop the upper intake off on my car LOL 🤣🤣 I was just looking for a recommendation. I'll find one.
