Recommend a longer lasting oil?

Yeah. PPE is GTL based, has hight HTHS (3.8-3.9) will run cleaner as GTL base is very pure.
Will be more shear stable.
I mean any difference between Pennzoil Platinum Euro 0w40 and Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40

I get it but...
Why would I burn 1 liter in 3k but then 1liter in 500-800miles between 3-5k?
The only thing I can think of is that the oils you are using are shearing out of grade enough that by 3k miles, its thin enough to burn readily. That could be rings or valve seals. I've seen that on occasion. But to counter that, Mobil 1 is typically very shear stable.

Couldn't hurt to try the Pennzoil Platinum Euro. I'd probably stick with the 5w-40 on the guess that shearing is the issue. Might be a tad more stable than the 0w-40 and in NC, cold temps aren't bad.

Thanks for that. I'm not in NC anymore, now in the Philadelphia area. I don't think I need the 0w for winters, I just thought that 0w oils have more robust?

Or he’s got fuel dilution, that can cause consumption as well. I see it on my Tiguan.

OP, one thing to consider. When you change oil, it is possible that you have more than what is indicated capacity. It won’t show over as sensor is very tolerant on overfill because a lot of people overfill for track purposes.
So, you might have 0.5qt or so over MAX. Eventually it drops down to level where sensor picks up 0.25qt drop below MAX. But it takes some time for that as you have more oil than it is indicated capacity. Than you add 0.25qt but now sump is not overfilled.
I think that is what is going on.

Good thought but I intentionally underfill, warm and get a reading to fill properly.
Your theory would have me overfilling by at least 4 liters since I am burning 1 liter per 5-800 miles at around 3-4k.

I'm going to see how the Mobil 1 0w40 goes and then give the Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40 a shot. I am considering sending out a sample to see if the lab can clarify.

Was just wondering, as those oil coolers retain a lot of oil.
But yeah, that is too much for overfilling.

Go for it, do a longer/harder drive before draining to burn of any fuel.
I would just get a bunch of cheaper A3/B4 (LL-01) or C3 (LL-04) since you do 4-5k oil changes.

Edit: Ohh and fill up 2L instead of one, like the bulletin says.
