Why on earth would you want to?
The 90wt will provide all the protection you need without unduly sapping power particularily with a synthetic.
The 140 wt is intended for heavy truck diff's.

Caterham Super 7 - GC
Lotus Europa Special - 20w-50 dino
Porsche 928S4 - M1 5w-40
BMW 328i - M1 0w-40

Thick stuff is more apt to foam and blow out the vent. Even the correct grade can do it if you run hard on a cold morning,

Probably doesn't hurt to stick with the manufacturer's recommendation.

I know that some run that heavier oil in their Honda shaft drives and seem to get good service. Maybe if you ride a lot in really hot temperatures but still, (personally) I'd stay with the manufacturer's recommendation.
