In a Quadrasteer Dana 9.75 rear diff that's supposed to take 3qts or 5.9pts(on Amsoil's site), I had aprox. 7 or 8oz left in the third quart bottle. Why would that be, It's on level(almost) ground and the drain plug is on the bottom. Do the axel tubes drain out if you let it drain too long or is there some fluid left somewhere in the unit? I'll check it again soon just to make sure, they want 6mm or .25" from the filler hole or if low, up to the bottom of the fill hole (?)

Do you by chance have a manual for it to verify it holds 3qts? Doesn't happen real often, but a have seen a couple of Amsoils recommendations just a bit off.

Not lifted, the spec comes from the GM manual and the service is being done by me now. Maybe I'll know more when I check it when it's on a lift. I was wondering if maybe it takes a while to get into the axel tubes and the path of least resistance is out the filler plug. As always, thanks for the replies.

The only thing I can think of is that even if it's a little off level, leaning towards the filler plug, a lot of fluid would flow in that direction.
