rear diff clicking sound

On my '93 Ranger 4x4 which has LSD. I changed the oil today finally.
I was looking at the back tires and leaned at the right rear wheel and heard a squeak.
I went to the left side, no squeak.
Pulled the right wheel off, and inspected, brakes were good, but when I moved the axle, it made a clicking noise.
Very very little movement, no leakage at the seal, but I suspect the axle bearing is wearing out.
It's at 243k, I have to expect something to eventually give way.

I'm not to saavy with rear diffs aside from changing gear oil.
Am I right to suspect the axle bearing inside the shaft is wearing out?

I wouldn't worry about the miles. When I replaced an oil seal on my Bravada with 220k miles, the LSD was in amazing shape. The original machine marks as well as the QC guys initials were still there.

The axle shaft is held on by C-clips. When wiggled back and fourth, they make a clicking sound.
