I'm wondering where the fluid level should be at in my rear diff on my 1997 half ton Sierra. I recently bought this truck and I'm not sure. Right now it is a bit below the fill hole. I would like to fill it all the way up to the bottom of the fill hole so when I check it I will know if it 100% full. I know on later GMC/Chevy's that the fiuld level has to be like 1 inch below the bottom of the fill hole so I'm just wondering if the late 1990's vintage can be filled all the way up.
Also how does this work in the front diff? I checked it and oil started to drip out when I unthreaded the plug so it is 100% full. Should it be? Thanks!

Found the owners manual and it says to fill it to the bottom of the fill hole on both diffs and transfer case. Thanks!
