{Really worried} Accidentally poured 2 20 oz of Techron

Hello,

We as family share Nissan Sentra 2017. Accidentally my son poured Techron while filling gas 20 oz came home, didn't tell me about it and I poured the 2nd. 20 oz. Now, I am really worried. Can someone advise if I need to dump all the gas, etc. ? I believe Nissan full tank is around 13 gallons.
That amount of Techron is only 2.5% of your tank volume. Added to the ethanol, that means you’re still getting 87.5% gasoline. It’s fine.

yup...I have used this method every time I take care of a vehicle I have no service history of or if I have a complaint of fuel sender/gas gauge issues...it has "fixed" that issue in GM, Ford and Toyota vehicles that never returned...

Good luck with your car...you'll be just fine with that double dose...I've never had to repeat the double dose nor had that issue return...

Could add gas every 1/4 of tank 2 to 3 times . Says up to 20 gallons on the bottle .

May also want to consider taking it on the interstate at higher speeds to bring down gas level to 1/4 or 1/2 a tank and refill .

The highest I've ever used was 4 glugs of techron in a Honda gx190. Didn't blow up.
I bet that works out to a lot more than 2 bottles in 13 gallons.

Most of that bottle is a solvent. I seem to recall one MSDS for a Chevron product said "Stoddard solvent", which generally doesn't contain anything that isn't already in gasoline. In addition to that, fuel ethanol is actually denatured with with at least 2% gasoline. Kind of helps with diversions to make untaxed alcoholic beverages.

I seem to recall that some fuel sellers (someone mentioned BP) specify slightly more than 10% fuel ethanol blended to make E10 because it actually gets closer to 10% alcohol. That also boosts octane rating.

BG 44K and Redline SI-1 are both roughly 2x the PEA of Techron
I only buy Techron when it’s BOGO anyway - could double up - but since it’s just once in a while - I go across town for Chevron gasoline on that fill …
