Here in Colorado, the first several storms of the year catch the unprepared, and the stupid.

Usually, the stupid wreck their cars, and have to buy something to replace it. The unprepared usually just wind up in the ditch with little to no damage, put on their snow tires, and make it through the rest of the winter without any more issues.

One of these times, I'm just going to put myself on a highway overpass, with a video camera, and record the silliness.

BC.

Hello, This thread digressed into a "how many bad drivers there are" thread. I always thought that was a given. In the interview section of the report, the driver struck me as a horribly average person. That's as nicely as I can put it. Of course check out the car for electro/mechanical problems but I'll assume she did shove the floor mat into the pedals. Out of shape people don't step into vehicles smartly-they suffer their way through body movements and kick stuff as they do it. She simply freaked out and was very lucky. Also, the TV station got its "story" so don't hold your breath waiting for any resolution. Many of our brains and bodies have become as soft and useless as that woman's deportment would imply. Sorry if this sounds nasty but in the absence of a mechanical failure-which is probably the case-that dull, dopey woman is as dangerous as a texting driver, as sloppy as one which doesn't ever look in the mirrors. It's a pleasure sharing the roads with these slugs. The good point is that she wasn't drunk. Kira

If she is as bad a driver as the picture you paint (no way to know without riding with her) it's a shame she wasn't drunk. At least the cops would have taken her off the road for a little while.

Good thing she jumped out of the car with the phone glued to her ear as well, couldn't even put it down for a second.

Unthinkable to do that.

I had the pedal stick to the floor of a VW bus after relocating a pesky sand bank with the front bumper when going where no 2wd vehicle should have. My first instinct, reach down and pull it off the floor.
