Some of us are at the age of hair loss I think. I'm getting there and am looking into Finasteride and Minoxidil, like those from hims with lots of ads online. I'm sure there are many other generic brands with their own Rx in house to prescribe. What do you guys take and who do you buy from? how do you like your experience?

I'm 26 and I've been losing hair on the top of my head for 3-4~ years? I stopped caring. It's just hair 😂

Same, I had to start shaving it just after college. It's way easier. I don't have to pay a barber every few weeks and I can take a nap whenever I want without being concerned about bed head.

I just pay my barber $12 and have him trim the sides (kinda fade it) every month.

Don't worry. Your body will adapt and there will be no hair loss.

Your nose, ears and eyebrows will begin to take up the slack.

Maybe it's called hair redistribution? :D

My wife trims my eyebrows and gets a tweezer on my ear hair.

I have a full head of hair (always kept short)….. but if it was thinning I would just shave it.

I am single, and must deal with unwanted hair myself. All kinds of trimming gadgets here to get the job done.

At age 69, I still have my natural hair color. Older Brother was the same upon passing at age 75.
Had our 50th year class reunion in 1974. I was the only guy there that did not have gray or white hair. (or none at all) 😅

Yep, kept cutting mine shorter until I started shaving it in 2005 or so.

I'm not one of those 'drugs are bad' people, but its not something I would want to spend time or money on to maintain.

I started thinning shortly after starting college, likely due to a lack of nutrition in my diet?!? That said if I could grow it back I don't think I would...I shave it twice a week with a razor and the convenience of not having hair is just too good. Also, no one messes with a bald guy :)

Same here, losing hair for quite a few years now but I know it runs in the family, I do nothing about it except cutting hair shorter, just set hair clippers on 2 and trim it all off every 3 weeks, I started cutting my own hair when barbers closed due to covid. Cordless clippers cost me C$30.

tweezer on my ear hair.
Just a heads up, pulling out nose hair or ear hair can actually be danger due to infection risk which is riskier on the head.

"The "Triangle of Death": The area around the nose, extending to the corners of the mouth and including the upper lip, is often referred to as the "triangle of death" or "danger triangle." This area has a unique and direct connection to the brain via blood vessels. Infections in this area can potentially travel to the brain, leading to serious complications like cavernous sinus thrombosis, cellulitis, or even meningitis."

You are correct, really anything vascular on the head. Don't pick bumps etc.

The 'side effects' of those drugs might be worse than going bald.

Get a red light bulb for $30 and blast it at your dome on the daily. It's not about more hair, it's helping it turn over healthier.

I don't care to put chemicals on my head or drugs in my body for the sake of vanity, and I'm speaking for myself here. Every Sunday my wife gets out the clippers and whatever's left is cut down to the nub. It is what it is.

After the stress of school and working full time with aging parents, I started losing in the top of my head.

My spouse is a holistic nutritionist and suggested a double-edged approach (internal supplement with an external shampoo) to get it growing again.

I tried pumpkin seed oil capsules (only 1 per day is all that's needed).
Here's a study where it was effective in balding men
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24864154/

Combined with this shampoo, and I have successfully stopped losing hair and started regaining in the thinning spot.
It's claimed to be "100% natural", so there's that.

YMMV
