Re-fueled..then car sputters and throws FOUR codes

I'm hoping so! Yes, it sure is weird to see all those codes pop up with my car running the worst its ever run! Things ran fine today but I haven't tested the car out on a longer ride (>1 mile) but I will do so before the week is over.

It sure sounds like you got a load of bad gas.Try tanking at another station next time and run a bottle of regane or redline through it.With 10% ethanol already in the mix there isn't much point in dry gas.

Easily. When intake manifold bolts become loose, the can allow a gap between the manifold and cylinder head, causing a vacuum leak. However, it doesn't always happen.

Also check your PCV valve. It may also cause a vacuum leak.

This is just so weird but the car is running FINE! I am amazed how this thing ran the worst I've ever seen it since I bought it over five years ago, yet it recovered without barely any mechanical interventions. I suppose that loose intake manifold nut may have been an issue but I just can't see it causing that laundry list of trouble codes.

Nine years old and in over five years of ownership, not once has it needed professional repair work.

Shall I reward her with a bottle of fuel injector cleaner?

I'd say you're still in the dark but MAY be in the clear.


After my car's rough start I didn't throw a code. The car ran perfectly after that, no issues. At the next fill-up it threw a code, no drivability issues either.

Too bad you're outside your warranty (I think).
