I have been reading everyone's postings on motor oils and I have notice a common response: value oils at Wally World. I would like to see your ranking of those value oil sold at Wally World in both 5w20 and 5w30. Rank these value oils from best to not the best [they are not really worst so I did use the term]:

Havoline
Chevron
Motorcraft
Trop Artic
Mobil 5000 [I put this one in because of the CF ratings]

Thanks.

I'll rank the only three available in my WM and I rank them by price/ value -
Havoline - 1.72 qt ( only 5-30)
MC- 2.12 qt
TA- 1.56 qt ( only 5-30)
By default
MC heads 5-20 as my WM doesn't stock the others

I haven't seen any of these other than Motorcraft in 5W-20, but none of my cars use it, so maybe I just haven't noticed.

At any rate, Havoline and Chevron are very, very similar, as are Motorcraft and Trop Artic. And Mobil 5000 is essentially the same as Exxon Superflo. These are all good enough products that I would feel comfortable choosing between them solely based on price. In fact, for my N/A cars, that's exactly what I do.

Welcome to BITOG.

1. TropArtic
2. Havoline
3. Motorcraft
4. Mobil5000

Of those listed above, my WM has a pretty good selection. We even have TropArtic in both 5w30 and 10w30.

Of those listed above the only thing i've ever seen in 4 or 5 qt jugs is Havoline (all grades) and Motorcraft in 5w20. I *really* hope Motorcraft and Walmart get together and start carrying the Motorcraft 5qt jugs in other grades besides 5w20.

*Chevron only available as Delo15w40

Chevron isn't available at any of the Wally Worlds I shop at, but Havoline is and I'm told the two are the same oil. I would take either of these over any of the others.

Let's see....

Supertech dino
Supertech synth
Supertech..... wait, there's no supertech in the question.

And yeah, wallmart doesn't carry cheveron. You can get cheveron at costco for really cheap though.

I would go Havoline, TA, MC, mobil.

Havoline can be bought elsewhere for much cheaper here in Oregon.

Thanks for everyone's input, I am trying to make a decision as to which ones I will go with in my two cars - one uses 5w20 and the other uses 5w30. I have read that Havoline/Chevron and Motorcraft/Trop Artic were the same but I have noticed from the threads that there were some minor differences among the sister brands. I was not sure which of the two major brands to go with and your input helps me make a choice between the difference in base oil groups - 1) Conoco with a blended group II/III and a weak additive package or 2) Chevron with a group II+ and a good additive package.
