Ran through tires awfully fast - brand/model suggestion?

I've had many sets of Michelins and been poorer for it. I've also tried "economy" brands and was surprised by the quality and money still left in my pocket.

In no particular order, if you're running through tires often, consider:

Sumitomo HTR
Kumho Ecsta PA51

Currently running the Ecstas on my X3, just past 10k miles. They've had 2 rotations and are wearing great. Traction is also excellent, as is ride comfort (compared to previous RFTs), and very quiet. I run 36 psi at all 4 corners.

We also have a set of Michelin Premier LTX on the GLK at the moment. They've got 25k miles and might be good for another 10-15k at most. Very quiet, great gripping tire, excellent compared to the OE Dunlop RFTs which suuuuuucked.

Price difference between the two brands is $300 (4 tires installed), which isn't exactly chump change. Next time the GLK may get Ecstas as well.
