One of the detail guys at the Ford dealership my son works at, brought some RAIN X spray wax to work this past weekend. My son detailed the exterior of his truck (Aspen Green Metallic); wash, clay, Megs #205 polish, Megs Gold Carnuba, RAIN X spray wax.
It has been raining for 4 days straight now and he says the water literally sheets off of the finish leaving it almost virtually dry. He said it has never done that before using other detail sprays. I told him it might be the steps and products he used prior to the spray wax that yielded these end results.

Anyone ever try this product before?

This was years ago when I first noticed it at WM for a decent price. Researched the reviews and they weren't that great so I kind of lost interest in it. Plus it's one of those products that needs to be applied then buffed off. Which reminds me of a watered down liquid wax. I prefer a spray and wipe product.

So much of these detailing products are made by large companies that put multiple brands on the same product.

Case in point, Chemical Guys. They don't make half of their stuff.

This is the old RAINX you're referring to;

The new RAINX is an updated version;

I'm going to put it in the same category as Armor All spray wax. I originally liked it and it seemed to work perfectly on my Lincoln Mkx in Sterling Gray metallic. I tried it on my wife's Lexus Es350 which is a dark blue metallic (nightfall mica)..... nothing but streaks. I'm sticking with TW Ice Spray and TW Wax and Dry spray. Both are excellent.
