Rain-X additive?

Here in rainy South Florida, Rain-X or it's equivalent is a must.

While I've never had trouble with the Rain-X additive, I know people that say they have. Come to find out, at least one of them was dumping a regular bottle of Rain-X (the kind you wipe on to the windshield) into the washer reservoir. I drove that car in the rain and it was unreal how bad it was.

The additive may be incompatible with some washer fluids, but again, I've never had an issue with it.

Griot's Garage makes a windshield repellent that is downright superb, I like it so much, I purchased 2 addl bottles of it.

I use the gallon size Rain-X bug remover and dilute it with water. Works OK.

The -30ºF Rain-X de-icer gallon is my fav in could weather. It works and leaves a very clear windshield. Works well in Florida too. But can't find it here.
