RADIATOR BACK FLUSHING TOOL
• Uses compressed air and water
to flush cooling system
• Fits 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" (13, 16, 19 mm) hose
• Adapter for standard garden hose
• Aluminum hose barb with release valve

Anyone heard of such animal? My car is due for a coolant change and I think will flush it. I am not sure what the proper procedure is. But this little tool is cheap ($10) if it doesn't do more harm then good.

Can you back flush BMWs that that an aux heater water pump? This pump provides a littl extra heater flow when the car is idling. Believe it it on when the car is running with the heater on.

I am using prestone cooling system cleaner. I have wondered about back flushing to remove as much of the old bmw blue coolant before I add Zerex G05.

I've seen such a tool used to backflush radiators at a radiator shop. Looked like it was pretty effective. If you already have the air compressor, I think it'd be more than worth the $10.

I usually remove the thermostat, disconnect the upper radiator hose at the radiator, then flush through the hose. This gives my radiator a reverse flush.

I guess flushing makes sense if you find rust particles, sediment and such in the coolant when you drain it, otherwise I prefer to just buy twice as much coolant as needed and use the first refill as the flush. If your old coolant was past it's useful life then any 'high' coolant additive consumption should be confined to the first refill.

At least it sounds good, don't it :^)
