I had that one for MANY years as did my dad. Saved us so many times over the years. I got a ticket in NC because they started using laser and it didn't have that. I upgraded to the Passport 4500 and had that for many years. Something went and it didn't pick up any more. I got tagged and pulled over but let off with warning. I used the non-ticket money to justify a new V1. That got really noisy with all the new car systems and I sent it in for upgrade to V1 G2.
It still alerts me on many trips to work and is god tool in conjunction with WAZE. It has alerted my son many times on his trips upstate hunting/skiing etc. He still wants one for himself but often takes mine or wife's car when he does the trips anyway.
My own V1 moment- when I bought it I wasn't sure if I wanted the V1 or a new Escort. They both had a 30 day money back thing so I bought both. Easter Sunday going to my parents, V1 on one side of windshield, Escort on the other. Both alerted in plenty of time, multiple times, almost simultaneously. Guy driving next to me had another brand on his window. They went off, we slowed down, cleared the trooper around a corner. We started to pick up speed again both V1 and Escort still beeping in my car and his was lit up. The V1 then beeped 2 more times and bogey count went to 3. Rear arrow stayed solid, front arrow flashing, I slowed back down to posted limit, other guy kept going. Escort was still blaring away from before. Around the corner was 2 more troopers with radar guns and like 4 chase cars. They were already pulling over the guy that was next to me before I slowed down.
Escort got sent back the next day.
