Not sure if this would be the appropriate forum but here goes nothing -

I have a 2004 Yamaha R6 with 22 thousand miles on the motor.
I changed the oil yesterday, but I overfilled it by quite a bit and rode a mile or two (I misread the dipstick as I checked it while it was on the kickstand, and got a false reading).

I drained enough oil so that now the oil goes up to the middle of the two dipstick lines, but I have a question;

Could running the motor with overfilled oil have caused any damage? It started fine and ran fine and after normalizing the oil level it still fires right up both cold and hot, shifts like a dream and there are no noticeable losses in power or engine noises except for the famous Yamaha tick which has been there since I bought the bike.

The oil had air bubbles while warming up that looked like this

but after I let the bike warm up and idle until the fan kicked in to let any water evaporate, I checked the oil and it was clear, no bubbles no nothing.

This is what the oil looks like

I'm sorry for the novel I've written but I have to know, is there anything I should be worrying about?

Thanks a lot!

no worries
well unless you filled so much that when a piston(s) came down it hydroliclly locked. but then parts would break.
and since that didnt happen....no worries!
