Question on Purolator PL10111

Hi,

This filter is for my brother's 06' Equinox. I was just curious about one thing. The specs on their website say; Relief Valve Pressure- NONE. Is this normal? Most others I've checked say 16-18psi.

GM chooses to place the bypass in the engine block itself. Therefore, no spec on bypass valve opening pressure as there is no need for one in the filter. FWIW-- Oldtommy

Looks fine. FRAM also states that they have no pressure relief valve in the filter on their ExtraGuard PH3387A (and other filters of that size).

I suspect the vehicle itself has a pressure relief valve.

It's a good filter.

I have used many of them on my Chevy Lumina over the last decade.

my bro's grand am uses the same filter. the setting is "none", because the filter doesn't have a bypass.

Like oldtommy said it is because it is in the filter head on the block, therefore it doesn't need one.
