When using a cleaner is it better to use it inn-town where is going to take a couple of days to use the entire tank of gas or driving during a long trip where the entire tank of gas will be used?

Personally the best route is to be on the freeway for a long drive.
However if you can't, as long as you drive, the cleaner will do its job, maybe take a bit longer, but it'll still work the same.

The more time the cleaner spends in contact with the injectors, valves and combustion chamber the better it will clean. City driving accomplishes this better.

Agrees 100% with Chevro! Fuel system cleaner it seems to me would clean much better if it has time to soak. Just like any other type of cleaner.

I find myself adding a small amount on trips as well.

Just use an fuel system cleaner with PEA.

Best to use a fuel injector cleaner during stop and go driving - and when the engine is shut-off, as it allows the chemicals to work on the injector deposits without the engine running.

This!^

Especially true if it is an PEA detergent additive.
