Question about my OLM (2011 Chevy Cruze)

First of all this isn't 1970 and your "wear metals" won't hurt the engine, especially one speced with synthetic from the factory.

used oil analysis of a factory fill will always show the worst but that doesn't necessarily mean the worst is happening. You know the engine is breaking in, break in requires that metals wear to seat and seal. No amount of oil changes will decrease this. It is completely time dependent.

Follow the OLM use a quality synthetic, live happy. Highway constant state driving is the easiest thing on any engine. Diesel engines have more abrasiveness in their oil due to soot yet no one minds the 10k+ OCI. I would not worry so much.

....Aother update....I drove back to NY from Florida and my OLM dropped from 62 to 56%....with 4500 on the oil and 6100 on the engine. I think that Eljefino's theory is exactly right.

It probably isn't as linear a scale as we think and don't forget at least from what I remember heading down south is pretty much all downhill.

I don't remember any hills towards the coast in the southern states.
