Amsoil has the best product guide for your personal vehicle I have seen, even breaking it down to the capacities needed to properly fill the changes. This is not a thread about 5w-20 v 5w-30. After the Amsoil listing of their products to use on the bottom of the list but not highlighted to go to their products it said for all temperatures 5w-20 motor oil. Vehicle in question is 06 Durango all wheel drive, 4.7 conventional Mopar engine. Dodge may have changed specs. on 08 or 09 model years to 5w-20 but I am not sure. Gary, Pablo, can you shed some light on this. Thanks

SAE 5W-30 XL Synthetic Motor Oil

Not 100% sure what your question is - looks like it changed for the 2007MY.

If they changed for the 2007MY, then should it not state:

Grade 1.......API*
SAE 0W-20 Synthetic Motor Oil
SAE 5W-20 XL Synthetic Motor Oil
All Temps.......5W-20

Johnny - where did you get that?

He adapted it from your post

It's either a typo or they don't recommend using 20 grades in this application ..which I can't figure why.

I noticed that is what the guide says for 2007 - and maybe that's the crux of the OP's question.

But he said he has a 2006, and in 2006 it says XW-30 all the way. This is why I made a distinction in my first post for 2006 and 2007.

Gary is correct, I adapted from your post. My two Honda Elements recommend 5W-20 and this is what the Amsoil page says:

LUBRICANTS & FLUIDS
Engine Oil
Grade 1......API*
100% Synthetic 0W-20 Motor Oil
SAE 5W-20 XL Synthetic Motor Oil
SAE 0W-30 Synthetic Signature Series Oil
All Temps......5W-20

That's all I was getting at for the 2007MY. I agree with your assessment of the 2006MY.

Yes the manual says 5w-30 but I may have entered the wrong model year as 2007 instead of 2006, but I am 99.9% certain that I used 2006 and it said for all temperature use 5w-20. I just went back and it says now 5w-30 for the 2006. I just may have made the mistake. Sorry, for the inconvience.
