Hey all,
I thought I would share this with you all. This video came out circa 1993. The story as I understand it, is that Quentin created the video
for his children and grandchildren to know what his life was like as a fighter pilot. PBS somehow found it and the video was broadcast
nationwide. It left a deep impression on me as my Dad and Uncle Bob who were both WWll vets, sat quietly as Quentin narrated his story.
Years later I tried to find a DVD to watch it again, but somebody bought the rights. It is now back up on YouTube for you to watch. I highly
encourage anybody to watch it to understand what these soldiers had to deal with both during and after the war. It is of course, not limited
to WWll. For me, I somehow find a way to get a veteran to talk about his PTSD that he carries and appreciates that I took the time to listen.
I also will ask him if it is ok for me to ask questions. They seem to know the difference between someone who genuinely cares vs. seeking
other non-related details. I am fascinated by the deep bond and brotherhood that only combat can bring and something I will never be
able experience. My apologies in advance for using gender specific terminology.
