Quantum Blue Lubricants

Glad to be here. I've asked about this particular oil on a couple of forums now and I wanted a broader opinion, be it positive or negative on this product.

I've been in contact with Brian, the owner, and it seems like a very good product, however, it is Group III petroleum based. I am currently running Renewable Lubricants HOBS 5w30 oil (vegetable based read as renewable resourcable) and was wondering if this stuff would be worth trying.

I would be using it in a 2004 Honda CR-V. If you would like to check out the site it is www.bndautomotive.com

LOL There is so much BS on this site no where to start. I have blended PCMO's for 32 years and this site has "lubricant discriptions" and techo names that are meaningless. Because they are so mis writen and make no technical sense at all. They make it sound as tho they make the base stock Sorry they are not a GIII refiner.
Maybe good stuff but web site has so much mis information I would not use it.

I just checked the Renewable Lubricants site and don't see an engine oil but they do make a 10w30 bar and chain oil. What was the oil that your using designed for? If it's not designed for a car, you may actually be doing more harm to the environment and your vehicle than if you used regular oil. Unless I'm wrong about their products, I would suggest that you change to a 20w Amsoil or Mobil 1 Extended Performance product with a bypass system to keep things green. Ester based oils are also bio freindly. Having your vehicle gum up or wear out early is far from green.

Since you posted your ad I will ask the golden question. How much is a quart or gallon of this oil?

The Renewable Lubricant oil is $17.00 a gallon, the Quantum Blue I'm not sure yet as he has yet to call me back with my specific blend/viscocity. I didn't realize that Ester based products were bio friendly. Do you have a list (other than Red Line) of which ones you would recommend.

I have check on the likes of Fuchs, Silkolene, and Motul, and was wondering the best of this bunch?

Ok AndyH, I guess I did overlook those, sorry. I'm one that is also in the process of learning everything that I possibly can oil different oils and basestocks with their respective additive pros and cons.

I guess you could say I was baffled by the babble in the description on the website!!!
