According to this Reddit post, Shell confirmed this. Sorry if it’s been posted before, couldn’t find it.

Good to know just started using it in one vehicle in the last 6 months. Might do this in 0w-20 in my hybrid next oil change.

very good low-cost oil out there and readily available. GTL base stocks / blends maybe the wave of other future oils. when the SQ,-GF-7 spec. hits the market.

I assumed this from DAY ONE when they separated Ultimate Durability from "Full" Synthetic green bottle. I also assume they are just rebranded Pennzoil Platinum and Pennzoil full synthetic as it would make no financial sense for the same company to reformulate the same tier oils in the same markets. And yes I'm aware BEFORE they made two synthetic Quaker States (And Shell was trying to market GTL as exclusive to Pennzoil) it was formulated different than Pennzoil Platinum.

Interesting, didn’t that oil expert do a video on this saying it wasn’t? Can’t remember. Can’t remember his name either.

But it makes sense from a brand to use the same base stocks within the same refinery. Different additives and different percentages of base stocks? Ok I could see that.

Lake Speed Jr.

He tested Quaker State Full Synthetic, not the 20k mile version.

A few previous threads, either directly on the topic or by mention.

Just be aware that under the interchange guidelines of API Annex E there's no guarantee that a GTL based Group III will always be used.

I posted the same thing a while back and had my thread edited/moderated and was beaten for reading an SDS.

Ironically the same crew that criticized the SDS information routinely uses SDS’s to sort through their favorite M1’s flavors for PAO content. 🤦

Quaker State has some really good stuff available, I’ve been running their Euro (also largely GTL) for many thousands of miles in my wife’s Edge and have enough stashed to get to around 120k before purchasing anything else.

Quaker State changed the name from Ultimate Durability to just Full Synthetic some years back. Then introduced Ultimate Protection, the topic of this thread which is the 20k mile oil.
And that was false. They are both available and they grade them differently. Did you even look at the back label in the above pic. They have BOTH oils on the label at a different tier
