Im thinkin 5k or 6 month with this oil, I usually use conventional oil with 16oz MMO for full 3k miles oil change. Since this QS UD is synthetic, I should just use oil alone without MMO, what you guy think ?

+1

if the engine has sludge though, i'd put in 16oz of MMO into the oil though, and the rest in the fuel.

Man Law says 'Don't fruit the beer.' Oil law says 'Don't MMO the oil,' with a disclaimer that specifies for synthetics.

What car, and engine? If the engine is very dirty run a qt if the sump is 5 qts or more. If you are concerned about it thinning the oil then do it during the winter. Or go up a grade with the oil, use a qt or two of 5W40 with 5W30 if you want. Honestly I never worried much about that in the 35+ years I've been using MMO.

If the engine is well maintained and has a little dirt etc., then your plan is a good one.

I wouldn't with a synthetic. You already have a premium oil with excellent cleaning abilities and I wouldn't upset that with MMO.

Put MMO in your gas-tank and QS-UD in your Oil Pan and leave it at that.

Using MMO with the oil is fine, but if you want to get the most out of the oil, then wait until the last 500-1000 miles to put the MMO in crank case. Otherwise, running the MMO with the oil for the entire OCI will decrease how far you can extend the OCI.

I agree. My high mileage vehicles get a good Grp III, but about once every 2 years when the OCI is at 5000 miles and I'm a little low, I top off with MMO and run for about 500 - 1000 miles. According to my used oil analysis I'm not doing any harm. The question is, am I doing any good. Probably not, but it gives me the warm and fuzzies.

I agree. MMO lowers TBN according to used oil analysis reports. The used oil analysis reports I've read with MMO added were all pretty impressive, but TBN took a slight hit. My thinking is this: if you want to clean an engine don't use MMO for an extended drain, a 3,000-5,000 mile OCI is fine. If you want to clean the engine then you want to get the dirty oil out, not leave it in there for an extended drain. If you want to do some light cleaning or keep an engine clean, a pint of MMO for the last 1000 miles or so of an OCI is the way to go.

Thanks for every one advise, im not adding any MMO to the oil. This is my car spec

1997 Camaro Z28 LT1 5.7L 6 speed 114k miles, no sluge, no oil burn, Have a little leak but not that bad, I never have to add any oil for every 3k, it alway show full on the dip stick.

Is 5k miles consider exntended oil change ? I alway 3k miles oil change.

Is OEM ( Napa Gold FIL 1069 ) side filter ok for 5k miles oil change ? Im alway using truck taller filter ( Napa Gold 1060 ), and add half quart to it. Im thinking using OEM side filter cause I bought 2+ 5quart gallon jug, and dont want open other jug just to get half quart out off it. My car take exactly 5quart with OEM side filter, with long filter I have to add half more quart.
