Ok, here's my scenario. I have a 1993 Chevy PU with 150,000 miles. 350cid, 2wd. Bought new. Used Quaker State 10w30 its whole life. Runs good. Regular OC's. Burns about a quart every 2500 - 3000 miles. Driven mainly short trips, 15-25 miles, and in-town driving. I live in a small town(8000 pop.), so its not driven in real nasty traffic. Im planning on my next OC, to change over to the Quaker State High Mileage 5w30. Will be using Baldwin filters. Thinking about using MMO every other, or every third OC. Also considering using the Lubro-moly MOS2 on OC's when not adding the MMO. Confused yet? Anyways, what's you guys opinions? How long should I go between OCI? Are the MMO & MOS2 intervals a good idea? Are they too close together? How long should I go on this OCI interval? I also have a 1999 Blazer with basically the same scenario. 180,000 miles. 4.3 V-6. Same oil. Planning on going to the Quaker State High Mileage 5w30 with it too. Along with the additives every once in a while. What do you guys think?
