At work I managed to pick up 10 qts of this stuff for 75 cents at work. Yes I did say .75 cents, anyways Ive never used this oil it is 10w-30. Anybody here ever used it while it was still available ? it hasn't been sold in a few years along with the 2 qts of Mobil 1 15-50 i stole for a further 14 cents. Is this a decent grp III syn like I think it likely is?

For both Durango and ION this oil is a fine choice. I would of bought 5W-30 but for the price you paid for 10 qts 7.50 is a steal. It is as good as any syn you could of brought a couple of years ago. You are lucky to find any oil at that price.

Great oil. The 4X4 is more marketing that actual requirement for any thing.

I don't think it gets cold enough in S.C. to worry about the 10W.
Should work fine for you.

Wow great deal, I would of jumped on it too. they are quality lubes. I would blend the 15w50 if you don't have an app for it and you would be good to go, MMO would cut a little it too.

There was only 10w-30 left still Ive got no room to complain lol

Thax, that's a good deal as I bought 9qts of QSTP(3 5W30 & 6 10W30) about 1.5 yrs ago for IIRC, $2-$2.50/qt at W*M that was in an aisle off to the side of the normal oil section.

W*M also had several remaining 5qt jugs of Mobil 1 15W50 for $15.00. I didn't take advantage of that as I don't use it in anything. I called a buddy of mine on the spot and asked him if he wanted me to snag them for his BMW bikes but he declined. I don't know why!

ha yeah if I had a BMW I would have been all over that 15w-50!

Got the last qt. at Advance 2 years ago for the ridiculous price of $.05. Only had bigger bills, so the manager popped the dime outta his pocket.

You didn't pay too much($2.99/qt.), you just paid a little more than some but not as much as many. $2.99 is good!

Of course, we'd all love to buy any synthetic for ~$1.00/qt or less. Those buys are few and far between but, we all have our day.

I remember not long ago that I bought a shelf of Havoline Syn 10W30(light blue bottle) for .75 cents/qt. And recently, I got 10 qts of PP for .42 cents/qt after it was on sale, store coupon and a Pennz rebate. I couldn't beleive it!

These deals are indivual! Not store or nation wide. They're for those who happen to fall into it and we all get our chance. I may never see these deals again but, I'm always looking. Like back in '04 when AutoZone(s) were dumping all oils(SL/GF-3) off the shelves...Cheap!

Adding this as my Edit will probably time out.

When I first discovered BITOG, and the Sales/Rebate/Promo Section, I was finding tons of deals at not only autoparts stores but, W*M, K-Mart, BigLots and even hardware stores, Pharmacys and grocery stores. Keep looking for your deals!

Now, when I go out shopping for anything, I stroll down an oil/car section of the store unless I'm in a hurry. But when I shop with my wife, we take our time and spend the afternoon doing so, having lunch/dinner and maybe see a movie or at least stop, sit and have coffee. I don't fight going out shopping with my wife as many do, we make an outing of it and maybe meet up with friends! She looks at shoes/purses and I look at oil/tires & tools, even if I don't need anything.
