WalMart got some QSUD in 5w20 so I figured I would take advantage of the rebate for that. The 5 qt jug does not say Quaker State on the receipt, it just says motor oil. The weird thing is I bought 2 seperate qts to make 7 and the individual qts specify the brand. According to the terms it must say the brand. Recently when I bought the Mobil 1 it said Mobil 1 and specified 5qt on the WalMart receipt. Maybe Quaker State has it set up with Walmart to do that so it won't qualify.

Ahhhh.... seems like a silly little game if that is what is happening. Something you can do is get a parts store to price match Walmart. For instance, I know that Oriely's will price match Walmart on oil as long as it's an "in store" price. That may be one way to go to get the rebate.

There is one Oreillys in this area. I just got off the phone and he said they only match other auto parts stores not WalMart.

I wouldn't think so. I suppose enough people here buy Quaker State at USA Walmarts. What have everyone's receipts said? I suspect it depends upon what each store (or group of stores) actually enters. I know that when I last bought oil at Walmart a number of years ago, the brand was there, Pennzoil. They're not very descriptive, though. If one is looking for the product line (i.e. Pennzoil) and the tier (i.e. Platinum) and viscosity and size, one might have some difficulty. We need to teach Walmart our little acronyms, like PYB, so they have room on each item line.

Don't worry. I had the same concern with Walmart and QSUD 5w20 and the rebate came through.

On past SOPUS rebates I've done for stuff bought at Walmart, the SKU code was sufficient enough to qualify. Maybe a call to customer service could confirm.

That sounds about right.. we have an Oreillys here too and there's no way in [censored] those jokers are price matching walmart on oil.

i just got back my rotella rebate for oil purchased at walmart.

the receipt just had the UPC and "shell 10w30" in the description, and did not have the size of the container.

i just circled it and hand wrote "2.5 gallon" and they sent the correct rebate amount.

the instructions just said that the size of the container had to be on the receipt, not that it had to be done by the store, so i wrote it on there ... worked for me!

That stinks. I guess each branch manager can set their own policy then. The two in my area both match Walmart.

My jokers sure as [censored] do. I thought it was a chain- wide policy but I guess not.

I called the rebate center today and they said no problem, it will go by the sku number on the receipt.
