quaker state higher mileage

was at walmart and saw Quaker State High Mileage. I looked at the bottle and not only did i see that it contains sludge 50, but also none of the bottles had the api "sevice SM" "doughnut" symbol on the back, nor did it have the "starburst" "certified for gasoline engines" on the front. to top it all off the text on the back only talked about how the product helps worn engines there was no text stating the specs for chrystler, ford, gm requirements. Is this a really bad marketing gimick for Quaker State High Mileage, or is this stuff not certifed for use in any gasoline engines? I decided of course to stick with my usual YB, but this cought my eye. has anyone noticed this before?

Pennzoil P & YB are better IMO anyways... I will have to check a bottle next time I'm in the store. Thanks for the info.

I'm sure it meets spec as Quaker State has been around for years.

They are actually owned by Shell, right?

On a website of a place that sells it I found this, it could be old info as half their pictures are of old bottles. I have looked at the bottles but never up close, will have to next time I see one.

Quaker State Higher Mileage Engine can be used in all applications that specify the use of API SJ, SH or SG quality oils. It meets all the performance requirements outlined by API for these service levels. Always follow manufacturer's guidelines for oil change intervals and check your oil level frequently.

Hey Greasemonkey you are absolutely correct. I have a bottle of Quaker State Higher Mileage 5w30 with Slick 50, and nowhere on the bottle is there a Starburst nor a Donut on it........Wow..

I looked on their web site and their is no product data sheet available. Product data sheets are available for the rest of their products. Wonder what the deal is with this stuff.
