Quaker State High Mileage not API?

Was doing the weekly walk down the oil aisle at Walmart, and noticed the Quaker State High Mileage (Red Bottle) is not API certified. Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I thought I'd ask.

I've noticed alot of motorcycle oils don't have the API symbol either. Their bottles state it meets of exceeds their standard, but I guess they don't want to spend the money to be tested. That way they can be close to their requirements, but not HAVE to meet it.,,

Huh, interesting. I have always liked using the API Starburst oil's, especially if I'm under a warranty.

They have added a sticker on the bottle that states the following;
