Quaker State Full Syn 5w30

I've used QSFS 5W-30 in 2 cars calling for it with no issues...picked it up when there was a sale for $15 delivered for the 5 quart jug and some quart bottles when Menard's had it on sale...I tend not to go more than 5K miles/1 year but that is just the way it shakes out, not any other reason...currently paired with either an ACD blue can or Champ XL filter

Good luck with your choice

Very hard to beat for price and 5K oil change intervals. Been using it for multiple years in the mix -- never no complaints from engine or me.
Current ILSAC oils are good for OLM or One Year if your driving habits support the chemistry.
I have to change early due to D.I and short tripping. So ~2.5K miles and meaning 2x oci a year - Spring and Late Fall.

Ran wife's Subaru - commuting 70 mile highway round trip daily - with similar 20 dollar a jug oils out to ~9k miles with UOA's coming back as perfect as they get - and engine running BETTER than new.

540 rat ranks qsfs 5-30 at #11. This is the latest dexos 1 gen3 released in spring 2023.

11. 5W30 Quaker State Full Synthetic (abbreviated QSFS), GM dexos 1, Gen “3”, ILSAC GF-6A, API SP = 133,302 psi

I can't believe you fell for that fake tribologist's "testing".

I'm thinking about switching the HM version for my next oil change, because while I like the Castrol Edge that I'm running now, I wouldn't mind saving about $5 per jug since they're both Dexos anyway.
If you like the Castrol Edge check out a voa for the latest Fram (Amalie) SP oil. It’s add pack has Ti as well and head to head it looks stronger than the Edge.

While that guy is absolutely a joke, it doesn’t take away from the fact that Quaker State is an awesome oil and an even better value.
Not debating on if QS is a good oil or not, but he has the nerve to tell people it's better than oils like Amsoil or Red Line based on his ridiculous metric that doesn't even consider additive packages.

I like it and have used it in my 2.3L EB, 3.5L EB. UOAs on them looked great.
It's currently in my GM 2.7L TurboMax engine. I plan on a UOA next oil change.

What engine is in the Subaru? How many miles?

I suspect many Hyundai/Kia owners with the dreaded 2.4L Theta II would just about have a stroke at the thought of running oil out to 9000 miles. I know because I am one. Makes me think I should get a UOA for the Valvoline Restore and Protect I'm using right now. I've got over 6k miles over two OCIs currently in the past two months, more than half way through my third 5k OCI with it. Still consuming a quart every 500 miles and I drive 80 miles highway round trip daily for work too. 🫠

2.4L Theta II owner here : In mixed driving you may wish to keep your OCI’s down to 3,000 - 3,500 miles / 6 months (which ever comes first) . I’m just an average driver and a 4,000 mile UOA using a good oil (QSUD 5W20 at the time) showed the oil was pretty well toast by 4,000 miles .
