Has QS done away with the Defy brand? Could not find it at Walmart or Meijer

The name/labeling has been changed, that's all. Its called High Mileage Oil on the label now,

which is what Defy was. The PDS for this "new" High Mileage oil has "Defy" on it, and is dated to 2014:

Yes, it's just HM now. Doesn't say Defy.
All the oil brands have 75,000 on their high mileage label.
Why did the marketing guys settle on 75,000 miles as the "high mileage" threshold?
What would happen if you used HM in a new vehicle?
Could you cheat a little and use it at 74,500?
If your vehicle had 37,500 miles, should you mix regular and HM at a 50/50 ratio?

Maxlife is ok to use in new vehicles. Not sure about others, but HM oils just have more seal conditioners, but all oils have seal conditioners.
FWIW: I have never seen a bottle of Defy with anything higher than an SL rating on its back label.
Quaker State Defy High Mileage is now called Quaker State High Mileage. Even though the product description says it has boosted zinc for high mileage vehicles (and flat tappet engines) it does not. Talking to the Quaker State tech hot line they said that the zinc level is below 1000 ppm. They need to update the product description on their website.
The thicker grades could have been SM or SN. I went through four or five jugs of Defy 10W-40 in the old BMW but I don't recall the API cert listed.
Defy had a really nice add pack but it did show higher consumption in the old BMW than I'd had with Maxlife.

I have no doubt there is some Defy out there which is > SL rated. I just wanted to point out that if the OP was going to use it, they might want to check the back label before buying because (for whatever reason) all the Defy for sale in the auto parts stores around me only have SL rated Defy.
