So my local Walmart raised the prices of the 5 quart jug of Maxlife and Penzoil High Milage to about $18.50/ Quaker State Defy remains at $15.50. Any one any experience with that oil? I will be running it for 4,000 mile in a hard working 2000 honda civic. Thanx

WOW i like pennzoil high mileage only in the summer because it is too thick in my opinion for the winter. But that is too high for that oil even know i have had good luck with that oil. One of my engine guys only uses super tech hm in his High mileage volvo and i may try that.

It truly is a great oil at a great price. It has a great anti wear add pack and is synthetic blend all for under $16.

I have used the QS DEFY 5W30 in the Firebird in my signature. It's probably the single "smoothest/quietest" oil I have ever put in the engine in 35 years of ownership. I think the MaxLife did a better job on the oil drips.

I just bought a jug of Maxlife for $16.74 3 days ago, guess I got in under the wire.

Defy is awesome and a great value. If I couldn't run Pennzoil in my Jeep it would be Defy.

Defy is good oil. Its Volatility is a little lower and its HTHS is a little higher than other conventionals of the same grade. I've used it in several cars with satisfaction. I agree that Maxlife minimizes oil leaks better, however.

Defy is getting harder to find here. No 10w40 anywhere and smaller spaces for the other grades.

Defy, in my opinion, is one of the best oils on the market today. I say this because of how versatile it is, and the quality add pack you get for your money. Of course, the same can be said for Pennzoil conventional and Valvoline Max Life. I'd prefer the Quaker State.

I ran Defy in my old BMW last summer after about 30K on Maxlife.
The oil leaks might be a little worse with Defy, but measured consumption appears to be about the same.
I don't find Defy to be any smoother or quieter than Maxlife, but the four cylinder M42 is pretty smooth to begin with, if not what you'd call quiet, although most of the noise is from the headers and the rest of the exhaust, not the mechanical pieces.
Defy looks like a good oil at a good price.

Yeah, I have and still am using MaxLife with good success. It too is smooth/quiet but, in my particular engine mentioned, the DEFY has the noticable edge...both oils being 5W30!
