Depending on where you live, brake fluid can get nasty pretty quickly. I helped a friend bleed the brakes on his few years old Audi - it appeared to have algae growing in the reservoir. My experience has always been to flush it every two years. It's bad enough to have your brakes fade due to moisture in the system, it's even worse to have to replace pieces that are damaged due to the moisture.

To think a fluid can cause damage beyond 2 yr/30K is unbelievable, there are folks who never ever change it - they haven't gone off the road
