Exactly, and what's worse is when SOPUS screws consumers out of their rebates

The whole premise behind any rebate that is not direct at checkout is to screw you.
That is the norm. If you had a failure with any oil no matter that it may be a one time fluke- you wouldn't use it again especially on a new or late model vehicle. Advertising sells nothing to me.
From what I see on this forum, peoples buying patterns are based on cheapness, convenience, or rebates-sales mostly.

I respectfully disagree. When SOPUS started giving out free Pennzoil Platinum / Pennzoil Ultra oil to people; they wanted folks to "make the switch" so that says a lot to me
 
They were in a sense saying "use this for free" and if you like it, keep using it and touting these highly, God like GTL basestocks and so forth
 
Crazyoildude is right, as I stocked up on Super Tech conventional for $8.01/5quart jug and the. Super Tech SYN at $12 5quart jug. u hardly ever see Pennzoil conventional rollback as deep as Super Tech lubes are
