put in Green Oil today

i was really hesitant to try this oil because its of its base oil but today i dumped it in my sisters car(06 tsx) and this engine purrs so smoothly! valvoline synpower(my fav synthetic) was in there for 6-7k. the only oils that this engine didnt like was Mobil 1 0w30 and castrol gtx...engine idle'd rougher.

anyways, i notice that the gas mileage estimator was in the low 40's while driving 70 mph for about 40-50 miles! i normally see 35-38mpg while traveling at those speeds...I hope they have more rebates on this oil, im going to snatch a bunch up if they do. btw, my g-oil rebate came promptly! legit company

I wouldn't run that stuff in any of my vehicles....sounds way too gimmicky.

It's not gimmicky, the base material is irrelevant to the final product. You could make motor oil base stock from just carbon monoxide and hydrogen.

To the OP... when you say Green Oil, you're referring to G-OIL, correct? If so, you must have put 5w30 in the TSX. Does the TSX spec that weight or 5W-20?

At first I thought you meant you had some Green German Castrol. Nice to know you're happy with the G Oil though. I bought some too, and am still waiting on my rebate.

I have some of that stuff because of the rebate, but I dont think I will use this product in any auto that I own.

Why not? It's API certified and the following UOA showed pretty good results.

Keep watching the used oil analysis section. Many more will likely appear during the next few months as the early adopters wrap up their 5K+ OCIs. But the first, which comes from a very high mileage turbo, looks good which is very promising.

My vehicle won't be done with their current fills until late fall, but I've already got G-OIL on deck for all of them and will be monitoring all the used oil analysis that I see between now and then.

I jumped on the rebate to pick up a jug for the Maxima. Should be due for an oil change in about three months. Only thing I wonder about is the lack of the energy conserving symbol, the Max needs all the help it can get in the mileage department. Still, for getting the oil nearly free, if I lose 1 mpg, I still come out ahead.

Little impact on MPG in my 3.1L Buick.

UOA forthcoming on a 5,100mi run on the oil. Zero make-up oil added. Last 1,400mi on the oil was done in two 11 hour/700mi non-stop runs (save for two 5 minute bathroom breaks and one 5min fuel stop each leg of the trip) at ~80mph in 100+ deg ambient temps.

29.5 MPG with the A/C on running at 80+ mph compared to my usual 31 MPG at 70mph with A/C. I think the higher speeds had more to do with the slight drop in fuel economy than the oil.

The only issue was that the engine detonated in my driveway after I shut the car off, blowing itself clean up through the hood and out of the vehicle. [censored] G-Oil!

yeah g-oil(green earth). the car specs for 5w30, not 5w-20. 5w-20 is required in the 2nd generation tsx.
