PurolatorBOSS SmartFUSION "can't tear the media" video

That's what I've been waiting for. An oil filter I can't rip apart with my arms. I guess top fuel dragsters with 200 psi of oil pressure can feel more secure now.

I seriously think I may have just make a subconscious decision to not but another Purolator product.

People complain they tear, people complain they can't tear.

I just threw one of those on my old ford explorer. One thing I noticed was it felt heavy, and it's rated for 15k miles. I plan to run two change with it, if the rest of my car holds up. I bought a cartridge model for my wife's Chevy 2.4. It will be completing it's second run on a mobil 1 20k filter. I like letting the filter go for 2 changes, makes it alot faster.,,,

Back in the day weren't they one of the best filters? I remember working in the Mobil station in the 1970's and they used Purolaters.
The station was really a backend service shop vs gasoline sales. I loved that job. I was the guy who overtightened everything, just in case...

Oil pressure doesn't rip filters apart ... the force from the oil flow does.

They're not torn if you don't open them up.

What's funny is that's always been my motto on this subject too. Never found any elevated debris in my UOAs so not concerned with tearing. Besides, Mobil1 M1-104 is $17 at AAP now and they are just BOSS 14461 that cost $12. (WMart never has that M1 available anymore).
I use PureOne's too.

Then how come all of the cut-open filters aren’t torn? 53' Stude should be posting a ton of them by now if that’s the case.
It was a joke calm down. I know you've been super-pedantic lately.

There have been many cut open Purolator filters found torn and posted here over the years. I've never really cared. Only filter I've ever found torn was a Wix. Still buy Wix filters too. 🤷

I'm running a Boss next OCI in both of the household vehicles. My middle finger to FRAM for having the audacity to change the Ultras. I know they'll take it hard lol. 🤨 Live in central NC so supporting local too I reckon.
