PurolatorBOSS SmartFUSION "can't tear the media" video

I'm running a Boss next OCI in both of the household vehicles. My middle finger to FRAM for having the audacity to change the Ultras. I know they'll take it hard lol. 🤨 Live in central NC so supporting local too I reckon.
So you'll run a less efficient filter to protest? That'll show 'em!

Or trust the company that gave us years and years of torn filter media. Yep. Your choice. Make my day.
The Ultra filters were already made in the US, only a handful of the cartridges were made elsewhere, all they did was cheap them out, make them out of more restrictive materials, and majorly reduce the quality of a premium product, but go on ahead a lop up the marketing wank, eventually they'll just turn them into a tough gaurd at a more expensive price, if you give them money, they won't learn.

The ones I buy were made in Asia. So I'm good with it. And the restriction has zero effect on the applications for which they are specified. Your engines will never approach any pressure that will cause an issue with the Ultra filter. And I've seen zero evidence of any quality issues. Zero.

Btw, the Tough Guard is superior to anything coming out of Purolator. So I'm not sure how that would be bad, if it were true. And it is not. The Ultra still has more efficient filtration than the TG. And the TG filters better than anything coming from Purolator.

The most marketing I see is the wonky crap posted around here claiming the XG filters will somehow not perform as well as the previous iteration. There is not one bit of data to support that.

It's clearly made a lot cheaper, you're buying cost reduced crap and they're selling it to you as an upgrade, it's like the plastic Briggs OHV motors they pump up the HP numbers and they're nowhere near as reliable as the old flatheads, sure they're more "efficient" but they definitely break more often.

And it STILL outperforms just about anything else on the market. So like I said. Show them you mean business and buy a Purolator and feel like you are sticking it to them, when you are really sticking it to your engine. But hey, I'm sure the Purolator is good enough.

Or you can pay more for an Amsoil or Royal Purple that filter no better and costs significantly more.

I just fail to see exactly how that's a win for you. But it is your money, your choice. I'm sticking with the XG for just under 10 bucks at Wallyworld and will continue to enjoy 99%+ filtration down to 20 microns in a filter that will handle any pressures or conditions my engine will subject it to.

Show me one of the new Ultras that has had a design related failure, rather than just beliefs.

And it is an automotive oil filter. Not a lawn mower engine. Poor comparison.

eh the ultra going down is not that bad. Because the ultra and boss now have the same construction along with the m1 and that's was more expensive but also both have lower efficiency numbers.

The ultra was an over the top value but even if you compare the new version it still is a good value just less of a good one than before. The ultra even with the downgrade is still the best value and performer compared to the rest in the same price range.
