I have for your amusement a cut open Purolator Tech TL12222 oil filter that was in service for 3600 miles on my 2025 Jeep Gladiator 3.6L Pentastar. Filter was installed a on Baxter Performance oil filter adapter with Chevron Delo 400 XSP Synthetic 5W-40 grade oil used. Seems to be of decent quality but it would not be a Purolator without some excess glue oozing out. ADBV appeared to be nitrile but was still very much soft and pliable and would have easily been fine if take out to a 5K mile OCI.

Installed was more Chevron Delo 400 XSP Synthetic 5W-40 grade oil with a Precision Parts (Premium Guard) PPG2500 standard oil filter.

Nice photos. Thank ayounsir.

To my eye, looks like a well made filter, even more so for a jobber tier filter. And for reference, I've seen 'similar' level excess potting on some PG/PG made OF anecdotes. I've had a good result on the US made TL14610, currently running another on a neighbors Civic. Said before, I'd have no problem running the China made M&H "Puro" TL. An excellent buy at $2.40, but lately the Amazon algorithm has caught up and price up significantly at least on the 14610.

Thanks for the c&p and fair evaluation.

Does that filter adapter plate void warranty
In theory, no and falls under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act protections .........."Blah, Blah, Blah" ........ and so forth so long as it was not proven the cause of the warranty claim.

The reality is I would never take it in installed for any warranty work related to the engine as it will just be a instant point of contention. It can easily be removed in 10-15 minutes and reverted back to the original cap and OEM filter.

thats amazing it falls under the "Magnuson Moss Warranty Act protections" because its a part that isn't designed to meet or exceed manufacturers fitment and design. its a complete modification of the OE's design. i agree i wouldn't be seen at the dealerships garage with that installed.

It is not for the risk adverse.

Looks good. Thank You for posting

When cheap, they were my go to filters for short OCIs on an oil burner. All that I cut opened looked as good as this one. Good C&P.

Yeah, an add-on mod vs just a direct replacement part that's not OEM (like just the oil filter) might be in the fringe zone of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. It would be somewhat analogous to adding a piggy-back tuner box to the ECU and expect that to still retain the warranty on the power train. I can see why you'd remove it if any work by the dealership was done, even though the chances of it actually causing any issues or damage to the engine are super slim if properly installed.
