Purolator “TECH” TL 10241 “Made in China”

Good Afternoon BITOGERS. Here is a new one for ya a Purolator with Champ Labs style baseplate but holes in metal center tube. Off a co workers 09’ Ford Focus Coupe. Had this and whatever 5w20 quick line installed for 5k. I put some QSAD 5w20 since co worker is poor to say least and a FRAM ULTRA XG 3614 on it from my stash.

What a shame. I was going to buy the 12 pack for my explorer but I prefer made in USA. I’m sure some that are made in China are fine but it’s just the principal of the matter for me.

It appears with this jobber tier "Puro Tech' filter M&H has decided to keep the Purolator name on the filter but move production coo. No longer a Puro US filter as other Purolator spin on filter tiers remain, to this point. What I can see, looks fine, run for it's intended oci/fci.

As for auxiliary base plate/tapping plate, serves same purpose as the Champ ecore baseplate design. Rather than have a protruding thread boss as found on Fram smaller filters like 7317, an extra plate added on top of inner plate. Purpose is to make installation easier in blind, difficult to see/reach applications. Less exactitude required to find/meet mounting stud. At least, that's the idea.

Yeah, the parts plus filters work used to use were made in South Korea, now China made

At the place I used to work a few years ago they had Service Champ filters not sure who made them or where but they never seemed very quality at all.
