Just wanted to post a short update to this thread... I took a closer look at the filter after having wicked the oil out the media using a paper towel, and realized both ends of the pleat were actually torn. The side I didn't take a picture of was actually a deeper tear. I'll try to get more pics of it when I can get some better natural lighting in the coming days. I won't be using these for anything more than 3,000 miles until I use up what's left in my stash.
