Purolator One pl38165 cut open (cartridge filter)

I searched and hadn't seen this filter cut open yet.

This filter fits a bunch of different Mercedes Benz engines and models.

I don't think there's really much to see here. Filter was in service 6 months for 6800 miles my wife's 2015 C400.

You cut the pleats very cleanly. The media looks thick, filter well made.

Made in Jordan ... not seen much. Nice glue job on the pleat ends. Looks like a date code of 07/20/22 on the end cap in the first photo.

Yes, this filter is almost exactly the same as a Wix filter I ran about 4 or 5 years ago. It was also made in Jordan. I can't help but think the factory there may have changed hands at some point?

Some creative googling and I believe its a Wix 57279. That was the exact typeface on the filter. Mine was made in Jordan, it seems that you can get the same PN but made in china, according to some amazon reviews.

I can't imagine that they're not all from the same factory. Seems like whoever owns that facility was contracted out to make Wix and Puro One cartridge filters for a few years.

Yeah, Made in Jordan is different along with reinforced "Smartfusion" media on a Purolator One is something we don't see. Interesting & looks excellent. No reason to switch away from what I see.
