Purolator Boss PBL22500 C&P

The only problem with PG is while they do have amazing QC they do have some issues with excess glue at times, I also noticed the correct specified filter for my Chevy had a bypass valve which is not correct, 4.3 Vortec's have the bypass built in it should not be on the filter.

I personally will not use any M&H made products until they fix the QC all throughout their brands.
I've seen issues from all the makers but PG has been very consistent with their quality than most of the others in my experience of seeing @53' Stude & others posts here. I do agree that you'll find some with glue on them in all the wrong spots.

Here's the official Spec Sheet on the PBL22500. The official ISO 4548-12 efficiency is 99% at <46u. The Carquest is better than that.

I know the spec sheet data already. You're missing the Carquest/PG Spec Sheet though... 😂

Just like I mentioned on the other thread, you use this "Spec Sheet" excuse for anyone else's efficiency claims. 😄

I can see someone thinking: "Hey, I'm going to use a filter with 99% >46u because it has a Spec Sheet." 🤪 🙃

I would imagine we may have different needs for filters eh? That was my long winded version of saying the Boss would beat the Carquest. Now you've given me twice to say it. :p
I’m not sure why you’d want to keep repeating being wrong but it’s 2024, you do you

it really is unfortunate because if you cut a Boss apart, it is built like an absolute tank with tons of pleats. they really just need to tweak the media. i love the M+H base plate. it’s super heavy duty and their ADBV is soft as it gets. fram’s perfect seal gasket sticks every time. M+H’s gasket releases everytime with ease.
If it was a least 99% @ 25u I'd be using them. At one time before Fram removed the wire backing, there was info that Fram was considering using a similar nylon mesh backing on the OG Ultra media. They should have went that way IMO if the wire backed media was too hard and/or expensive to keep making. Are you listening Fram?

Do you have Specs Sheets for them? Better not buy them without having specific Spec Sheets for each filter model. ;)
Oh yeah lets ignore the incredible contributions a former filtration test lab member did 3 years ago. Purolator Boss number wan! because specs sheets tells you its the most expensive rock catcher you can buy just for a good price of 15 bucks!

I don't force the efficiency thing everywhere like you do.
I think a Boss or WIX or PG or X filter is just fine for most folks.

Many of us appreciated & correctly believe the testing data that was ISO standard tested by Andrew.

Nobody "forces" the efficiency thing on anyone ... where are you coming up with that nonsense? You think saying that official controlled test studies show that more efficient oil filter reduce engine wear is "forcing" it on people? - wow. It's just technical information to educate people about engine wear wrt oil cleanness - the info is out there if people are willing to self study.

But you seem to really use this Spec Sheet mantra as a way to discount other's efficiency claims, one brand in particular for whatever reason. But what's funny about it is the Purolator/M+H Spec Sheets show pretty bad efficiency on some filter model, so I guess that's a good thing for people who want to use a more efficient filter. :)

ISO Spec sheets are the only way to know how efficient a filter is. You claim efficiency is key to reduce wear so it's perfectly reasonable to make sure the filter that one is using has been tested to ISO standards to know how "Efficient" it is. Want less wear right? You go as far as telling folks if they don't choose an efficient filter it will produce extra wear. ISO testing is again the answer to know what the efficiency is on any particular filter.

Don't get on the obtuse train. Already said if a filter maker has an ISO 4548-12 of 99% @ 25u or better I'm OK with it. I don't need a specific Spec Sheet for every model of oil filter. Please read that and absorb it. And stop being hypocritical about the Spec Sheets because you don't have a Spec Sheet for every oil filter you ever use - you got one for the Pronto filter in your signature? You really are just trollng and going in circles now.

You started quoting me all afternoon in two different posts. Even going as far as talking about one subject from the other in your quotes. I've told you to leave me alone before but you just can't help yourself to quote me. I've already told you the Pronto filter was already on the Volvo when I bought it... keep up!

There's no rules that say a member can't quote another member. I respond and quote you when I feel the need to ... nothing against the rules about that. If you don't like these discussions then either put me on ignore or don't respond to get into these discussions ... simple as that. Better use those Ultras you have on hand, since there is no Spec Sheet for them ... someone will buy them from you I'm sure. 😄

Well, since you think I'm hypocritical & trolling you better put me on ignore then. ;)

Well, just letting you know that you have an easy option of putting me on ignore. ;)
Not gonna ... I never put people on ignore, and I never will. I've been on multiple chat board for decades and have never put anyone on ignore. It's easy to ignore someone in my mind without using the board's "ignore" function. ;)
