Purolator boss, one good louvers, one bad.

.. These... plus the out of place pinched adbv.. This guy knew to check but what about the untold number of customers who just grab these and screw them on ?? .. I wonder what happens ?

Guy in that thread said that was the view from inside the center tube using a borescope. So in that case those louvers are basically stamped out in the opposite direction of most louvers. They are sticking out towards the media, not towards the center of the center tube. Strange louvers.

I ran dP vs flow numbers on a Fram PH7317 center tube like that, and the dP with hot oil (15 cSt) was only around 0.12 PSI at 10 GPM. Even though the holes look small and few, their total area was still ~11% of the total area of the center tube.
My intended point exactly. There are words with my picture. “not that many holes. But more than enough.” For those who just see a picture and run with their own ideas, not mine. Not you.

Didn't say you were wrong ... basically agreeing and pointing out more details and numbers to back it up. You don't even know when someone is agreeing and backing up your post ... should work on that. 🙃 😄

Engineers who design oil filters run these numbers ... they wouldn't be designers if they didn't, lol.

Had allot of 5.3L filters so cut that one - it’s pretty good so will use the other like it - one ACD and one Fram very similar …
