BOSS filter differences

Curious if anyone knows more on why these two purolator boss filters have different baseplates. Using the date code sticky thread it looks like both are 2022. One being September and one being December. I did notice the last letter is different. Does that mean different facility? Or maybe it designates a design revision? Insight is appreciated! That era had some manufacturing woes & we saw filter companies barrowing parts from their other counterparts. Not sure if that's what's happened here. Best bet is to go look at the newest version to compare which one is the most recent. Could just have been a running change of design at that time. Shouldn't effect anything though.

Oil filters change without noticed all the time for various reasons. That time frame was "supply chain issues" time for a lot of companies.

What does each have for a center tube - holes or louvers?
