Yeah, I would say the 14459. They're interchangeable, the 14459 was recommended for older Honda/Acura vehicles. I don't know why they changed, personally. The 14610 works fine on my car as does the 14459, you'd think just having one part number across the board would be a lot easier.

Definitely not a need, the V6's take the same filter at more than twice the displacement.

Yes it is.
Not a huge difference but AFAIK it's the only oversize that fits. Micron level is 20mu as opposed to 40mu on 14610 which might matter to some, no biggie to me.

Great! I like the 20mu thingy. If I can get that extra filtration, why not?

The 14459 is usually cheaper than the 14610 alternative as well, across brands.
I might have to consider using the PL14459 instead of the PL14610 on my V6 Altima ... it looks like the 3.15" dia vs the 2.69" dia will fit just fine on the filter mount -- the O-ring is the same diameter, just the can is larger in diameter. Plus, I like the fact that the PL14459 is 99.9% @ 20 microns instead of 40 microns.

Picked up a Purolator Classic L14459 at K-Mart on the way home tonight. $3.15 ... on sale. They didn't have the PureONE in stock so just went with the Classic. I also noticed the 14459 has larger oil inlet holes in the base plate than the 14610, and has the coil spring bypass valve design vs the "45 record adaptor" flat spring design on the 14610. Seems the 14459 is a better choice than the 14610 for these reasons.
