Ok, Advance Auto is having a sale on Pureones so I thought I'd get a couple.
1.)But before I get them I wanted to know how long can they be stored and how would you store them? It's obvious that you have to keep them in a dry place but would you either saran wrap it or place it in a ziplock baggie to keep it from absorbing moisture in the air?

2.)Also would anyone here feel safe running a Pureone (the particular model is a PL14610 for an '04 Civic) filter for 8-10k miles? If I run those intervals then I would be using M1 if not I would be running 5k intervals with dino.

3.)And has anyone ever figured out how the PL14610's bypass valve works?

1. If it's in a dry cool place I'd say they'd be fine for a few years. The metal may start to rust and the glue might dry out eventually.

2. I think it would be fine. They have lots of capacity and a silicone ADBV.

3. I'm not familiar with that filter sorry.

I just bought the last 10 Motorcraft 300 filters they had remaining at Walmart closeout for $2.67 each. I use these filters on two of my vehicles & will store them in my furnace/utility room in my heated/AC basement. I have four cases of oil in there also.
