Both are good. I would buy up all of it. The SM version would probably get my vote unless it was going into a direct injection motor then i would want the lower NOACK of the SN.

Run the SM in an older engine (out of warranty) and the SN in your newest vehicle you plan on keeping.

I plan on keeping it, yet it is out of warranty.
Thanks 147_Grain, for confusing me now.

If they really have as much sitting on the shelf as you indicate, bargain with the department manager. They want it moved so they can convert it into cash and buy other product, so tell the manager you'll buy all of it for $2/quart. If he hems and haws, walk away and let him chase you.

Don't go any higher than $2.50/quart.

I did this at the WM by my work and the guy stuck his nose up at me. That was a month ago and the same 11 bottles are still sitting on that shelf. Maybe by now he's learned his lesson and I should offer up again and relieve him of the stock.

threeputtpar, I made a new post in this forum showing 1 of 2 shelves with all of the PU at my local WM.

Talk them down and buy all of it, then extend your OCI to somewhere between 12K-15K and sleep well! I ran SM in my FX4 for almost all of the synthetic UOAs in my list. The last one or two had SM on the bottle, but the changes in the additive PPMs in the UOAs indicate that it may have been SN in the bottle.

Either way, PU in any flavor will protect your engine with no problems.

PS...where is that store? - LOL!
